BUDS PRIVACY STATEMENT
This Privacy Statement describes how BUDS Technology, Inc. and related BUDS Applications, including but not limited to Akssi and/or BUDlogic (collectively referred to as “BUDS” or “BUDS Applications” or the “Site”), collect, use, transfer, and/or store Personally Identifiable Information (PII) — data that can be used to identify or contact a specific individual. The Statement applies to the BUDS Applications and services available through them.
This Privacy Statement is incorporated into and subject to the BUDS Terms and Conditions. It may be updated without prior notice to reflect changes in our information practices, so please review it periodically.

Collection and Use of Your Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
Information from Your Healthcare Provider
The BUDS Applications may contain information about you provided by you or your healthcare provider, such as:
- Name
- Date of birth
- Address
- Email address
- Phone number(s)
- Medical condition details
In the U.S., this information may also be classified as Protected Health Information (PHI) under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
BUDS takes additional measures for processing sensitive data as required by applicable privacy laws. By providing sensitive personal information, you consent to BUDS collecting, processing, and storing your PII and PHI.
BUDS uses your personal information to operate its applications, send surveys, and improve services.
Account Setup and Access
When you first access the BUDS Applications, you will be required to agree to the Terms and Conditions and set up an account. You should not share your login credentials with anyone you do not authorize to access your PII.
Your Personal and Health Information
The BUDS Applications may collect various types of PHI and PII, including but not limited to:
- Pulse rate
- Respiration rate
- Oxygen saturation
- Body temperature
- Blood pressure
- Medication type, dosage, and usage
- Weight
- Blood glucose levels
- Diagnosis and symptoms
- Care plan and medical notes
- Communications between you, your healthcare provider, and authorized contacts
Your healthcare provider determines which BUDS Applications collect PHI/PII and how long that data is retained. BUDS uses this data to provide updates to your provider, generate alerts when health indicators change, and improve medical monitoring features.
BUDS does not sell or disclose your PHI or PII to third parties.
Account and Data Security
BUDS uses third-party cloud hosting and analytics services under strict confidentiality agreements. These providers may access your PHI or PII only as necessary to perform their services.
We employ strong security measures, including:
- Encryption of stored data
- Secure cloud hosting
- Multi-factor authentication
- Firewalls and security monitoring
- Regular security audits
Despite these safeguards, no online system is 100% secure. If you believe your login information has been compromised, please change your credentials and notify BUDS immediately.
Data Retention and Location
All PHI and PII collected from users in the United States are stored in encrypted form on U.S.-based cloud servers. We do not transfer or store U.S. patient data outside the country. Retention periods are defined by agreements between BUDS and your healthcare provider.
Children’s Privacy
BUDS does not knowingly collect or use data from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us information, please contact us so we can address the issue.
Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
In compliance with COPPA, BUDS does not knowingly collect PHI or PII from users under 13 years old. Parents or guardians can contact us to have such data removed.
California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)
California residents have rights under the CCPA, including the right to:
- Request information about the PII BUDS has collected or disclosed
- Opt out of the sale (if any) of PII
- Request deletion of their PII
Please note that deleting your PII may limit your ability to use BUDS Applications.
Your Privacy Rights
You have the right to:
- Request deletion of your PII via your healthcare provider
- Limit BUDS’s use of your PII
- Restrict use of your PII for marketing or survey purposes
- Request a copy of your stored PII
- Submit a complaint with a data protection authority
