Training Guide: Recert Assist & My Tasks

Training Outline & Trainer Notes

Our technology is designed to give you valuable time back in your day, so you can spend more time focused on patient care and less time writing recert and/or IDG notes.

It is important to remember that this tool does not replace your EMR. The EMR will always remain the source of truth for patient documentation. Instead, our technology works alongside your EMR to support your workflow, reduce the time spent drafting notes, and help Blue Summit maintain strong compliance standards.

We’ll be covering three areas of Akssi on today’s training:

CTI Draft for your Recert Note
IDT Prep Note
My Tasks from Audit Scan

Using CTI Draft for Recert Note

    1. Aggregates relevant information needed to share with the Dr. During the IDG meeting that shows either decline, stabilization or improvement of the patient
    2. Summarizes all clinical notes, tests, visits, and more that occurred during the benefit period and gives you the first draft of your Recert Note.
    3. Note that this draft be crafted for each benefit period 2 weeks before the end of the benefit period and once created will be updated daily until the benefit period closes to ensure all additional notes and tests are captured in the draft.
    4. Additionally, at the top you can see the criteria recommendation that Akssi has provided, either Meets Criteria or Needs Review. You can see the logic for this suggestion by clicking on “View Logic.”
      1. Please note that if there is a data discrepancy, issue or bug, please do not use this button but instead contact us at support@budstechnology.com .There is a small button that says "CTI Feedback" (see below) where when clicked you can leave a rating and specific feedback about the CTI that was generated. We will use this information to continue to make the drafts even better to ensure they continue to be valuable to you.
    5. For other summarized and visual data from the patients benefit period you can click on the tabs Patient Summary, Signs & Symptoms, Events and Ket Indicators
    6. All you must do here is copy the CTI draft by highlighting the text and using CTRL/CMD C
      1. Note that the “Copy Draft Preview” cannot be used at this time unless a prognosis is entered in Akssi
    7. You will then paste the note in HCHM and add any additional information relevant to the recertfication of the patient.

    Using the IDT Prep Note
    1. The Akssi IDT prep note will provide a summary note for all data from the last two weeks or from the start of care if they are a new admit
    2. You can click on the highlighted text and to the right in the “Source Data” section you will be able to see where Akssi pulled this information from
    3. All you must do here is copy the it by clicking on “Copy IDT Prep Note”
    4. Select which areas you would like to copy and click on “Copy Selected”
    5. You will then paste the note in HCHM and add any additional information relevant to the patient.

    My Tasks (Audit Scan)
    1. One of the modules in Akssi is called Audit Scan. The purpose of this tool is to have comprehensive coverage that eliminates blind spots by reviewing 100% of compliance documentation and provide proactive protection instead of reactive damage if your hospice were to get audited.
    2. Tasks will be created in Akssi for the assigned nurse/case owner if a gap is identified when reviewing documentation.
      1. Example: HUV1 visit has not been scheduled yet and it’s approaching the deadline.
    3. View the tasks assigned to you in My Tasks
    4. If it is a valid missing document/component you will correct it in your the EMR. On the next sync with Akssi, our system will pick up that it has been corrected and resolve the task for you.
    5. If it is not a valid flag then you would click “Resolve” within Akssi.
      1. Example of when this might happen is if a new admit has a paper trail and the missing information is in that format
