Resident Level of Care Flag FAQ

Will one difficult day cause a Resident Level of Care Flag?

Usually, no. Akssi looks across the 7 most recent recorded days so that one unusual day is less likely to create a Resident Level of Care Flag.

What happens if a day is missing?

Akssi skips days with no recorded answer and uses the most recent days that do have information.

Are all activities mixed together?

No. Each activity is tracked on its own. For example, shaving and transferring each have their own comparison and Resident Level of Care Flag.

Does a Resident Level of Care Flag mean the resident's level of care plan automatically changes?

No. A Resident Level of Care Flag is a prompt to review. Staff should follow their organization's normal process before making care decisions or updates.

Why might Akssi show that less help is needed?

The resident may be improving, or the recent entries may not fully reflect the care provided. Review the resident and the entries to decide what is happening.

Simple example

For the past several recorded days, a resident has needed more help with shaving than they usually do. Akssi sees that this is a pattern - not just a one-time event - and shows a Resident Level of Care Flag. Staff can then review the resident and the recent entries to decide whether follow-up is needed.
